Navigating the roads of an upcoming move is a process to get excited about, and even though there will be unique challenges, the internet and modern technology are on your side!

Plenty of tools are available at your fingertips to help manage the details of the journey and smooth out the transition ahead, bringing a new level of convenience when relocating.

Use Modern Tech to Your Advantage When Planning for the Moving Process

Technology has continued to advance; apps have become available for almost everything in recent years. Locating the right moving services and moving companies can be just as simple with all of the connections made available to customers in 2024!

researching movers online

Meet Your Specific Needs When Moving to a New Place

The tools of technology are available to everyone to discover. Still, they can become essential when locating the perfect movers near me, purchasing furniture for the new home, and developing an official moving checklist.

However, everyone’s needs are different, so to streamline the process, it is crucial to know how to use these technologies to simplify everything!

avoid moving brokers scams

Before the Exciting Adventure of Moving Begins

Preparing for moving day usually starts with setting a budget for the relocation process, exploring the moving industry, finding reliable movers, packing up belongings, etc.

While it is vital to avoid moving scams when you create lists of potential movers or attempt to organize belongings, users can find an app on nearly any smart device, so relocating is efficient and easy!

Budgeting Tools to Save Time and Manage Money

Setting a realistic budget for the moving process is essential, and looking at what others have required within similar relocation circumstances can help customers gain perspective.

Applications like Mint, NerdWallet, Albert, and YNAB can help you set a price, track your goals, and stay within range!

Developing a To-Do List for Moving Day

Making a physical moving planner is a thing of the past; there are no AI app assistants and new technology that can complete its own research and separate things into smaller tasks so you can keep track of what is already done and what is left to focus on.

With an app like Todoist or Monday, the user can create lists, manage a task, and cross out everything on the moving to-do list!

Locating a Licensed Moving Company

When searching for stress-free moving quotes, don’t look past that smartphone! This is likely one of the most excellent tools during a relocation transition, as everything can be simplified into one space.

The internet and an app like MoveAdvisor can help research a moving company to schedule an estimate, and you can store it all on Google Keep to keep track of your thoughts on different movers.

writing inventory

Creating a Comprehensive Inventory List for Packing

Decluttering when moving to a new home is one of the more significant tasks homeowners and renters face.

The details of this can seem tedious, so instead of spending energy keeping track of it all, users can have a full inventory and comprehensive list of everything with the following app services:

  • Sortly.
  • Packing Pro.
  • Moving Planner.
  • Evernote, and more!

From questions to ask your movers, places you would like to donate old items to, and the rest of the packing process, you can inventory it all in one spot!

Self-Care to Keep the Move Stress-Free

To create a comfortable relocation to your new home, don’t forget to take care of yourself! Finding healthy coping and self-care techniques to take a breather before the movers arrive is important.

Try Calm, Headspace, 5 Minute Journal, or even the Sleep Cycle app to ensure you are getting enough rest and relaxing before the big day.

Staying on Track When the Moving Truck Arrives

Technological and artificial intelligence are tools available to everyone, offering a convenience that would otherwise be unattainable. When the moving company arrives, the process doesn’t end there.

While there are professionals to help load everything for transport to the new home, there are often still tasks left to complete.

Keeping All the Tasks in One Place

Connect everything in one place by using smart devices and maintain total control over any changes happening during the moving services.

Using the Dropbox app, Apple Notes, or Simple Note allows everything to be saved and managed from the same space!

Save Energy with the Entire Process by Tracking Additional Shipments

If you are shipping some things out using a traditional mail carrier or other shipment services, don’t forget to download the app to oversee those deliveries as well. Most carrier services will have an app that can download updates during transit.

Ask Your Movers About Applications Available

Don’t forget to ask your residential or commercial movers for real-time updates on the relocation service and potential applications available to review the advancements of those goods to their final location.

This allows families to better plan for the furniture’s arrival and develop a schedule when settling into the new community!

Bringing in Artificial Intelligence for Extra Support During the Relocation Process

Be mindful of ways to make your move easy or as easy as possible. Interacting with the AI space can help make lists, schedules, and plans simply by typing in a few keywords.

ClickUp, Taskade, and Before Sunset will complete all the usual heavy lifting for its users!

Eliminating Challenges on Delivery Day & Settle into the New Home

A lot of anticipation builds up before the long-distance movers arrive.

You can check the internet for tips and tricks on settling in and unpacking, but don’t neglect creative apps when unpacking and finding efficient ways to set up the new space!

Unpacking Following the Moving Services

Going through all those moving boxes when they arrive can feel overwhelming, but things aren’t quite as bad when you have a legitimate moving service and contemporary apps!

Unpacking is the first step to your new life in a new place, and while it may feel like a gigantic task, it allows homeowners to create the environment, decorate, and organize.

Apps like Unpakt go above and beyond for users, helping from point A to Z and assisting customers while they settle into their new homes.

Technology for Home Layout

One of the most remarkable ways to implement technology in the design of the new space is by using an app that helps plan out layouts, functions, and practically all things room by room.

Most modern retail stores offer 3D applications so customers can view a furniture item in their home before purchasing.

Still, if you are attempting to set things up in a new place, getting a view of the possibilities is nice! You can use any of the following applications:

  • Houzz.
  • Rooms is available to iOS users.
  • IKEA Furniture Planner.
  • Amikasa.

Developing a Smart Home at Your New Location

Utilizing smart apps can open up a new world and show homeowners how useful these technologies are in everyday life, especially in a new home as you try to settle in.

There are many ways to implement smart apps in the household, such as cultivating a smart home!

  • Amazon Alexa can be combined with loads of Amazon products, connected to everything from light switches in the home to smartphones.
  • Google Home is one of the more commonly used apps to upgrade the comforts of living.
  • Nest can help with everything from smart thermostats to security cameras, which can be operated remotely and remain compatible with Google Home.
  • Home assistance offers innovative apps to control your privacy and security.

Getting to Know the Community & Exploring Local Events

Finding things to do around your new home allows residents to assimilate and get to know the area.

Apps like Songkick can help with live music near you, DoStuff helps get-togethers in the region, and EventBrite offers an even more comprehensive range of options to begin networking with community members!

Staying Connected to the New Area

Sporting events, concerts, parades, and other large gatherings are an excellent way to begin meeting people in the area, but getting to know people on a more personal level is easy to do with the following smart apps:

  • Nextdoor.
  • Facebook and other local social media groups.
  • MeetUp.
  • Peanut is a great place for parents hoping to meet other parents.
  • Localmind.
  • Circle.

I don't know what to say other than thanks Eden's! They helped me move twice now and both were smooth as you can expect a move to be. A broken cup or two but what do you expect, they moved my stuff across state lines and I have broken more moving myself, that is just part of the process. They were great about going over the coverage options too to ensure I was covered for any damages. Always get insurance for a move! Thanks again Eden's, I will recommend you to anyone!

Highly recommended movers! We hired Edens movers for a local move in Lakewood CO and they did an outstanding job. The movers were professional and friendly and the entire move went smoothly without any trouble. From the start they were organized and clear and the price was more than fair. Best prices and great to work with. You have to wait a little bit longer for your stuff but they were very upfront about the time frame, gave us a range, and called a few days ahead of time. Our move was difficult because our stuff was in storage (we had already moved and due to another moving company dropping the ball we could not get back to finalize boxing everything up). They did a great job once they arrived organizing our stuff in storage carefully. I would highly recommend.

The crew showed up on time, they were quick and careful with my stuff, and they made sure everything got placed where I'd need it.. Great experience once again.
